Student Counselling & Development (SCD) tries to meet the needs of all students that come to counselling. As the academic year progresses, there is an increasing demand for our services and, wait lists develop. In order to provide service to as many students as possible, we need to ensure that every available appointment spot is used. We request that students make every possible effort to keep scheduled appointments.  If a student is unable to do so, we ask that they notify us at least 24 hours in advance or, in the case of exceptional circumstances, as soon as possible.

Unless warranted by exceptional circumstances, a student who misses two intake, two individual, or two group counselling appointments without notifying us at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time, will not be allowed to book another appointment for the rest of the academic term. Clients who repeatedly cancel individual or group counselling sessions may also be refused additional services. SCD reserves the right to make decisions about access to services on a case-by-case basis.
